city tax is too high, tips are also high
Hotel was very nice old architecture and as a contrast nicely renovated in modern manner. Food and the breakfast at the restaurant was very good and tasty.
Shower in my room was broken and apparently not fixed after last visitor since upper shower did not work at all. Cleaness of the room was rather poor. Also I had brown uninvited guests in my room witch I found very disgusting.
The room was always clean and very spacious. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
We stayed 3 nights, got moved every night to a new room as the showers didnt work. The noise from the courtyard and road were annoying. No spa or gym as stated on the website, We also booked a whole day trip and it only went for half the day ( not the hotels fault). Not a great location for tourist. Food in the restuarant was average, Slow internet.
I think the design is good and they help me to surprise my wife .
In mexico paying the tips to the employers is mandatory and they are waiting for your tips.If you don't like to pay tip, they obligate you to paying the tip and I think it's not good for the touristic places. Also, they didn't say anything about the rate of the tax in my check in.
Location, staff, service, security, food, margaritas, and what's left of the original decor. I cannot get the "dislike" box so I will put our complaints here: This was our fourth visit in 40 years, but the first since its modernization, which we do not like. It took Mexico out of the courtyard, the streetside dining room, and the rooms, especially the bathrooms with all their glass. Very dangerous. I bumped my head and drew blood. One of our rooms did not allow bathroom privacy. Another allowed it if we were able to close the drape.
It was 400 years old and had a nice courtyard
It was noisy at night and we could not sleep
Classic building, gently restored. Excellent rooms. Nice staff. Excellent food and wine, if a bit pricey. Ala carte breakfast great except poor quality of fresh fruit.handy location for historic centre and metro serving university, polytechnic and imp. Would stay again.235- 250 Pesos from airport by taxi.20 Mins at 5 am, 35 mins at 7 pm. Hotel feels very secure and well isolated from outside noise.
Room on groundfloor allocated despite requesting top floor room. Poor WiFi in room 104, only worked in window sill. Extremely loud music from roof top cafe until 2 am Thursday-Saturday. All rooms affected by this. Otherwise the hotel is quiet.
This is a fantastic place! Older building, great architecture - rustic and eco-friendly rooms, great decor. Very affordable and terrific personal service by the staff. Will recommend this hotel to everyone I know who visits Mexico City.
The breakfasts were wonderful. The hotel is extremely well located. The beds and linens are great.
I did not like the glass door to the bathroom. It did not open properly (108) and I hit my leg on the edge several times. I also was upset about the 80+pesos water next to the coffee pot. It gives the indication it is free like the coffee and it isn't.
